Jakarta Treats @ Pik (Part 2)

(Continuation from Part 1)
Click here if you have missed...

Next we went to SumBoo!

And my cousin recommend me this.
Its filled with red beans, pearls, candy etc.

Portion was just right.

Next icecream store we head to is
Latteria where it is a Gelato and Dessert Bar
I've ordered Ferrero rocher, Matcha and Lime flavours. And this flavours supplement one another really well!

Then, we went off to a small roadside cafe where they sell this really sweet matcha puffs and marshmallows, both of us didn't finish it, because if we do so, we might get diabeties.

And by midnight we went to get Martabak for our breakfast! Martabak Manis (which translate to Min Chiang Kueh in Singapore or in English: Griddle Pancake) They offer several toppings like peanuts, chocolates , cheese etc. my cousin ordered an oreo and peanut-chocolate flavour.
These pictures demonstrates the process

Although doesn't look hygienic to you, but it tasted really good!

I felt really bad for my cousin because all  of the meals we had, he paid for it..

Jakarta Treats @ Pik (Part 1)

Indonesia Edition
So during the March holiday, my family and I flew down to Indonesia to visit our relatives and at the same time to enjoy ourselves from this fast-pace country, Singapore. Jakarta is well known for their traffic jam day in day out, luckily we have a personal chauffeur to drive us around the capital. Everyday my parents will follow my aunts out to shop while i just stick around till evening which is really boring. Being a glutton i asked my cousin: "hey bring me out to enjoy some good food!" Without queries, we hopped into his car and he drove me around to do some cafe hopping! We drove to PIK (north Jakarta), there is a newly "reclaim" town to cater their nightlife with Cafes and Bars right next to each other.
First stop : we head to Cake-A-Boo, where they bake and design many cute sweet treats. And as we entered i feel like i'm in a some kind of disneyland playground because their cafe looks really colourful and pretty. They even have a conveyor belt like those you see in sushi bar; to transport the cute desserts around.
Me and my cousin shared this
And a unicorn matcha shake
Their shake is especially sweet :X
Next we head over to Shirokuma a popular Japanese Dessert Cafe, this cafe gain lots of recognition from their local youtubers and my cousin spotted a few popular faces as well.
Look at that pretty cotton candy *.*
This is what my cousin had
I had their Matcha Mochi Eggette Parfait and also their Kuro Japadog! I waited for almost 15mins for the Matcha Parfait because its really popular there, as they require to use the waffle machine to make the Eggette hot and fresh!
Their Kuro Japadog smells and taste really good too, and every bite is oozing with goodness!
Its just the second cafe but i'm really bloated and could hardly walk, but we still went on to the next ice cream store.

This next ice cream store wasn't really special to me, they had unique ice cream and cone flavours where you can mix and match toppings, but it is really popular amongst the Indonesian teens.

We had ordered their soda ice cream with Matcha and Black Charcoal cone. It taste really normal to me, taste like normal soft serves in Mcdonalds.
Some of their unique flavours are: Vanilla, Green Tea, Taro, Cream Soda , Strawberry candy etc.

To be continued... in (Part2)

Ramadan Exclusive!

Every year during the fasting month, there is always a Bazaar or most people call it "Pasar Malam" (Night market) set up all around the heartlands and the roadside of our HDB flats. This Bazaars offer lots of really unhealthy yet mouthwatering snacks you can find in Singapore.

One of the popular Bazaar out there is at Geylang Serai, where the muslims will normally go there in search of their new year clothings and shopping.

One of the Bazaar which i had visited was the one at Tampines (located right beside the MRT Station) It was around 4pm and it's slowly starts to get pack-crowded. And as you passed by each food stall there will be a different fragance accompanied by it, and it really makes your stomach growl.

Also the snacks are cook right before you eyes hot and fresh, and you'll get to see the amount of oil they used to cook your snack.

Kebab burger
Takoyaki Balls (with different fillings)
Deep fried bananas and fish

Sweet syrup stall

Otah (my favourite)
Its actually fish baberque in the banana leaf

Popular Ramly burger and roti john
New year goodies

So this is what i had: Takoyaki, Pizza Kebab chicken and beef, keropok lekor(fried fish snack)

The Kebab stall is really good and with a new menu

So prepare yourself to gain lots of calories if you ever visit the Bazaar during this fasting month ;)
and Eid Mubarak to my fellow muslim readers :)

I'm Kim Korean BBQ! @ SOTA Dhoby Ghaut

It was a Sunday morning and the whole island was pouring, leaving the bed makes it 10x difficult as usual. However, realising that i was suppose to meet my childhood friend for Korean BBQ lunch immediately springs me up from bed! So we took the purple line MRT down to Dhoby Ghaut, and walk towards School Of The Arts (SOTA). And yes, the SOTA eventhough its an Art school for the talented, they have one of the popular Korean BBQ in Singapore right in their campus! Not only bbq , but also artisan icecream nearby stores as well.

So before we enter, we told them that we are students so that we can get our student discount (money saving tip)

With this perfect chilly weather, it was also a good time to embrace it and help ourself to the selections of pork and beefs awaiting for us to baberque them.
I am a meat lover so i tried everyone of them:

*And warning* one of their Signature Volcano Chicken is one of the spiciest marinated chicken i've EVER tried! (You could even play truth/dare your friends to eat them)

So my childhood friend goes a little healtier with lettuces and at the same time helped me out with the cooking :)

What is korean BBQ without Kimchi and ricecake!!??

This is their drinks area, and i'll recommend you to drink their lime juice as it helps u to wash down the aftertaste and the oil after your meal.

Happily cooking our meat and going YOLO with the Signature Volcano Chicken :D

After filling our stomachs to the brim, there is always space for dessert.

And less than 2-3 hours of our meal, i started running to the nearest toilet ><

Twas a really filling lunch i must say, and i also save up on my dinner.

$20+- avg per pax
