Kwan Kee Claypot Rice @ Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

With decades of experience, Kwan Kee Claypot Rice is famous for their claypot rice and it is located at Sheung Wan. This claypot store is highly recommended by my aunt because she frequent visit to Hong Kong for business.

As a regular customer, my aunt have to make a table reservation for the 4 of us one day in advance due to the long waiting time for a table. You can choose to seat inside or outside their restaurant. We decide to seat inside although it is cramp because outside was way too cold..

The boss cooking their signature dish

Even watching him cook can be mouth watering!

This is their menu

This are the different dishes my aunt had ordered : stirfried bittergourd with pepper beef

Sweet and sour pork, sorry for the half finished food
Frogleg with ginger and green onion
Pork and chicken claypot rice
Once you received your claypot, you got to quickly stir it and mix it with their special soya sauce, the mixing allows the sauce to be evenly mixed and also to prevent burning of the rice in contact with the hot claypot. There is a layer of crispy and slightly burnt rice at the bottom which doesn’t stick to the pot.

Last but not least their popular Pork Bone Hot Pot
From the over spewing looks, you can see lots of ingredients in there like vegetables, chicken feets, corns, tofu, white radish and huge pork bones to chew on.

This is the aftermath down with a refreshing glass of coke!
So if you ever want to pop by in this restaurant, do remember to book a reservation;)
