During my second day in Hong Kong, i decided to do some self exploration without my family due to the light drizzle and cold temperature. So i decided to start travelling down from Mongkok where my hotel is. I took my own sweet time to walk and brave through the rain taking pictures from my iPhone while everyone is out with their umbrellas.
I dont know if it is fate or luck? After taking this photo above, of all people in HK i saw my singaporean aunt walking towards me, she couldn't recognise me at first until i call out to her and we were shocked and dumbfounded hahah! And soon, she brought me to Causeway Bay to try some very outstanding tofu (beancurd). This is their menu.
Yan Wo Soy Bean Shop @ Causeway Bay , not really hard to locate as it is down along the street beside the famous Forever 21 store. Or you can just ask anyone there because its very well-known.
Very easy to spot, as they fried their signature dish right infront of their stall.
Starting with their signature dish, its the fried tofu with fish meat stuffing. Really hot, fresh and the texture was cook to perfection, the tofu really just burst into your mouth. To even make it more mouthwatering, drizzle their special chilli and soy sauce . Really good for a cold weather!
3 is never enough and i have to order more! Next dish was their beancurd which is worth to mention, its very smooth and it just melt on your tongue.
It comes with no sugar content so you mught have to sweeten it up yourself with the orange coloured sugar (i think is coconut sugar)
They do sell other dishes like porridge, vegetarian beehoon, also soyabean drink and desserts.
One thing to add is, if you ever dine into this kind of small eateries in HK, be prepared to squeeze into this small stalls, and also its very common to share tables with a stranger.
